As a young kid I was always amazed while watching Lloyd Bridges as Mike Nelson in a TV series called Sea Hunt, (yea, I know, most of you are not old enough to have heard of the show). Many people think you have to be a young person to start diving or to be a diver. I am here to prove them wrong.
I have been diving since 1992 and I started somewhat later in life. With my wife being my closest dive buddy, we get to go on many dive adventures together.
I became a dive instructor in 2015 after saying I would never turn my fun into a job. Once I decided to retire from full time job, I realized I could help others enjoy a sport that I feel so passionate about. I teach Open water diving, Advanced diving and many specialties as well as CPR / First aid / AED. I currently am a MSDT, (Master Scuba Diving Trainer) with PADI. I added SDI instructor in 2020 to give our students a choice.
As a retired Navy veteran, I wanted very much to help other veterans. I became a Diveheart instructor in 2016 to help persons with disabilities through adaptive diving. As I started the program to help veterans, I quickly realized there was so much more. Most of my work with adaptive divers has been with young people. Retired from the military with 24 years of service, I have been recreational diving for 27 years and a Dive Master with Winfield District Volunteer Fire Department for 16 years.

I have been scuba diving for 27 years and completed my open water certification at 16 years old. I became a police officer in 2002 and joined the Morgantown Dive Team shortly after.
After many years of public safety diving, I took the step to Dive Master and then became a PADI dive instructor in 2022. I have always had a love for water and the ocean. I became an instructor to share my love and passion for scuba diving with others.
